With some exceptions (looking at you, Great Danes), our pets are smaller than us. Most pet CBD products contain a lower dosage of cannabidiol than human-use products. This makes sense: Your 30-pound corgi’s nervous system may be easily overloaded by your typical 15-mg/day dosage! In this instance, more is not better. Do not feed your pet your CBD oil, and do not overdose. It’s a smart idea, too, to keep CBD oil for pets and CBD dog treats out of reach of your animal. As all pet owners can attest, treats within reach are treats eaten!

There are some possible side effects to CBD use in pets. Your dog or cat may experience dry mouth, low blood pressure, and dizziness. Always monitor your pet after they consume CBD, and do not leave them alone in case of severe reaction.
